MWFB: Newborn Necessities by Jennifer Cigale - Book Review & Giveaway

Once baby girl arrives, I know that life will be much different for B and I, and I'm sure our days will become even more busy than they are now. We're currently trying to do everything we can now to prepare for baby girl in hopes that it makes some things a little easier upon her arrival, but I know there will still be a lot to learn, do, and keep track of as new parents. For example, I imagine that trying to remember all of the details that you need to keep track of with a newborn, while being a sleep-deprived new parent, may get a little overwhelming. But -- I've found just the thing that will make keeping track of the important things a doctor will want to know much easier -- the book Newborn Necessities by Jennifer Cigale!

As soon as your baby is born, your doctor, midwife, nurse, and/or pediatrician will ask you to keep track of his or her feedings and diaper changes. Make it easier on yourself by writing it down. Using the charts provided in Newborn Necessities will help eliminate common feelings of stress and anxiety associated with, When did I last feed the baby? Is he/she eating enough? My thoughts:

It's an easy-to-use log book that helps you record baby's input and output. The book is divided into two main sections: Feeding Facts (to record when you feed baby and the time/amount when feeding by breast or bottle) and Diaper Diary (to record when you changed baby's diaper and whether it was pee or poo). Within the charts, there is even an area for comments so that you can note any other details. The book also includes guidelines as to what to expect the first few days with diapers and feedings, which is really helpful to me as a new parent and not really knowing what to expect exactly. I love that it's a convenient, simple way to keep track of everything all in one handy little book, and when the doctor or nurses ask me a ton of questions about our little one, I'll be able to easily provide them with accurate information all because I have it neatly recorded within the charts of this book! The size of the book is perfect and is small enough that it can fit nicely into your diaper bag or purse. I see this book being very useful once baby girl arrives, and it is definitely going to be packed up in my hospital bag!
