MWFB: Carousel Designs - Review

As soon as B and I found out we were expecting, we started talking about and planning baby's nursery. I am a "major" planner, so I thought we were doing great when we finally agreed on this specific gender neutral nursery theme. However, everything changed as soon we had our anatomy scan and the sono-tech announced we were having a baby girl. That is when B revoked all of our ideas of going gender neutral and replaced them with everything girly and pink. I was shocked!! I quickly became overwhelmed with all of the different bedding options, colors, and patterns. And it didn't help that B and I couldn't agree on any of them. Until we found Carousel Designs.

More about Carousel Designs:

From its start as a small family business in 1988, Carousel Designs has grown to become an award-winning national online retailer and trusted brand of premium baby bedding, twin bedding and home décor. Jonathan Hartley continues the family tradition of ownership as CEO with his business partner Allan Sicat, President. The two dads of young children are both graduates of the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY and are U.S. Army veterans. Hartley and Sicat take special pride that all Carousel Designs baby bedding products are proudly made in the USA.

Carousel Designs has an amazing selection of baby bedding in a wide variety of designs/styles and fabrics! In addition to a huge selection of pre-designed crib bedding, they also offer a really cool Nursery Designer tool, where parents can design their own baby bedding from a selection of 300+ high quality fabrics and preview their design in the virtual nursery online. You can even order fabric swatches to get the true color, texture, look, and feel of the fabric(s) to better help your design and decision making. With so many options, you are sure to find the girl crib bedding, boy crib bedding, or the custom crib bedding you have always dreamed of having for your baby's nursery!

Carousel Designs also offers a Crib Bedding A la Carte section on their website that allows individual crib bedding pieces -- such as the crib sheet or crib skirt -- to be purchased separately. This is also a great option because it allows you to mix and match the Carousel Designs crib bedding patterns.

I actually had the opportunity to review the adorable Carousel Designs Pink Circles Crib Sheet, which can be found in the Crib Bedding A la Carte section.

My Thoughts!
I can definitely tell the Pink Circles Crib Sheet from Carousel Designs is quality made. The crib sheet is made out of 100% cotton that feels soft to the touch, has a nice solid weight to it, and has easy care instructions of machine wash and tumble dry. I love the fact that it's American made, too!

I also love how the fitted crib sheet features deep, 9-inch pockets with elastic all the way around the edges. The deep pockets of the Carousel Designs Pink Circles Crib Sheet makes changing the crib sheet very easy and hassle free (great for those sleep deprived, middle of the night sheet changes that I keep hearing about). And the elastic edges help ensure a tight and secure fit. Both of which are very important -- time saving for mommy and safety for baby!

Purchase Info!
Carousel Designs baby bedding products, such as the Pink Circles Crib Sheet that I reviewed and any of their other crib sheets, can be purchased online at www.babybedding.com. Plus, they carry more than just bedding products. You'll also find nursery decor, such as lighting, furniture, and more!

MWFB: Bellybuds Review

Thanks to my reading, research, and local Pregnancy Center, I know that stimulating baby through voice, sound, and music is very important for bonding and beneficial to their development. B and I talk to baby girl every day to bond with her and baby girl really does seem to respond to our voices. She even seems to respond and like certain types of music more than others that we play for her (sometimes it seems like she is dancing to the beat...lol); however, it isn't always convenient to crank up the radio or stereo for her to listen and feel the vibrations. That is why I love the idea behind Bellybuds Bellyphones (think "ear buds" for your belly).

About Bellybuds:
Bellybuds™ are wearable speakers for moms-to-be that desire to play music and sounds to a developing child in the womb.

The original bellybuds
™ bellyphones™ audio system (patent-pending) plug into any standard digital music device and are specially designed to adhere gently to the varying curvature of a pregnant belly.

Whether worn descretely beneath clothing or in full view with an optional pair for decorative buddons
™ speaker covers, bellybuds™ are a convenient and effective option for playing audio to the womb.

Deluxe bellybuds™ set includes:
~(1) set of bellybuds
™ bellyphones™ - to share prenatal music and voices with your baby anytime, anywhere
~(4) sets of Hydrogel Adhesive Rings - to secure the bellybuds to the unique and changing curves of your belly
~(1) set of Silicon Covers
- that dampen the external sound so you play to your baby, not your neighbors
~
(1) Storage Pouch - to take your bellybuds anywhere
~
(1) Audio Splitter - so you can hear the same audio as your baby

*Adult headphones and mp3 player not included

My Thoughts!
The Bellybuds allow me to conveniently and easily play music for baby girl, without having to blast the speakers of our stereo. All I have to do is peel the bellyphones off of their storing "dock", attach them to my belly, plug the audio jack into my iPod (or any other digital music player), and let the music play. I love that I even have the option of listening to the music with baby girl by attaching the audio splitter (included with your purchase) and my own ear buds, which is a great bonding experience and how I usually use my bellybuds.

I also love that Bellybuds can be used to introduce baby to the voices and messages of loved ones that are far away during your pregnancy. I am planning on using bellybuds to introduce baby girl to the voice of her Grandma C, who lives in Florida, as soon I get a recorded message from her. :)

Below are photos of me using my Bellybuds and checking out one of my pregnancy books (@ 29 weeks pregnant) :

Thank you Bellybuds for such a wonderful product! I have really enjoyed my experience so far using the Bellybuds bellyphones to play music and bond with my baby girl.

Purchase Info!
You can purchase Bellybuds online or at select retail locations.

Baby's Closet

Earlier, B and I sorted through some of baby girl's clothes by size and put them into her closet, and this is the result:
Looks great, doesn't it?

I even used the baby closet dividers that I made a little while back to help organize her wardrobe.

MWFB: Newborn Necessities by Jennifer Cigale - Book Review & Giveaway

Once baby girl arrives, I know that life will be much different for B and I, and I'm sure our days will become even more busy than they are now. We're currently trying to do everything we can now to prepare for baby girl in hopes that it makes some things a little easier upon her arrival, but I know there will still be a lot to learn, do, and keep track of as new parents. For example, I imagine that trying to remember all of the details that you need to keep track of with a newborn, while being a sleep-deprived new parent, may get a little overwhelming. But -- I've found just the thing that will make keeping track of the important things a doctor will want to know much easier -- the book Newborn Necessities by Jennifer Cigale!

About Newborn Necessities:
Are you a new or expecting parent? Do you know someone who is? If so, this book is for you.
There are many items you will need to get ready for your baby, and Newborn Necessities is one of those things. As soon as your baby is born, your doctor, midwife, nurse, and/or pediatrician will ask you to keep track of his or her feedings and diaper changes. Make it easier on yourself by writing it down. Using the charts provided in Newborn Necessities will help eliminate common feelings of stress and anxiety associated with, When did I last feed the baby? Is he/she eating enough? When was their last bowel movement?
This book is designed for parents by parents. It is intended to make your journey into parenthood a little bit easier by providing you with easy-to-use charts to document this information. It is a quick, compact, and easy-to-understand way to chart this information, thus leaving you more time to spend with your baby and catch up on your sleep!

My thoughts:
It's an easy-to-use log book that helps you record baby's input and output. The book is divided into two main sections: Feeding Facts (to record when you feed baby and the time/amount when feeding by breast or bottle) and Diaper Diary (to record when you changed baby's diaper and whether it was pee or poo). Within the charts, there is even an area for comments so that you can note any other details. The book also includes guidelines as to what to expect the first few days with diapers and feedings, which is really helpful to me as a new parent and not really knowing what to expect exactly. I love that it's a convenient, simple way to keep track of everything all in one handy little book, and when the doctor or nurses ask me a ton of questions about our little one, I'll be able to easily provide them with accurate information all because I have it neatly recorded within the charts of this book! The size of the book is perfect and is small enough that it can fit nicely into your diaper bag or purse. I see this book being very useful once baby girl arrives, and it is definitely going to be packed up in my hospital bag!

Purchase Info:

Want to know another thing I like about this book? It's affordable! Newborn Necessities can be purchased from Tate Publishing (HERE) or Amazon (HERE) for just $8.99.
